Anime Matsuri 2013

It was quite an adventure that is for sure!!
Lets see... the whole thing started a few months ago when
and I decided to go for fun as well as to go cheer for the World Cosplay Summit USA Finals. I had never competed on a stage like theirs and so we decided to put together something for fun. was in the process of making Rina from Suikoden II for me since I was cosplaying Riou and so since she was cosplaying from an obscure video game for me, I was more than happy to return the favor for her with Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 3. So she showed me her Haruka artbook and said pick someone... so I picked Nozomi cause she had ALL THE COLORS hahaha. (and 's passion for the game quickly became contagious let me tell ya)
So we decided stuffs and saw that the contest sign ups were already started so we worked really hard and put together our skit in around a week which was crazy, we even had the blocking set.
Then it was crazy work and practice time up until it was time for the crazy drive to Texas!!!
We were joined in our adventure by
and it was a drive full of laughter (when the GPS was not sending us in a crazy circle around places)
We arrived in the evening of Day 0 and went by the con to grab our badges (and they were really nice badges too) and then went back to get ready for Day 1! (after having some wine to celebrate the wish for a fun con)
Day 1:
Day 1 I was in Riou from Suikoden II with as Rina, was dressed as Princess Cadence from MLP:FM . We had a lot of fun running around (occationally joined by 
as Chie from P4) and taking photos and we even hit up a couple of panels! We stopped by where the cosplay check in was going to be the next day so that we wouldnt have to worry about where it was later and were there just in time to cheer for Green Jello Cosplay as they made their way to WCS judging! The con hotel and the surrounding areas were really cool I thought. (Though having never been to Texas before my lungs were sore from all the humidity and other stuffs) Eventually we went back to the hotel and ate and roundhouse rehearsed to get ready for Day 2!
Day 2:
Contest Day!! We got up nice and early and worked over to the con and then wondered up to check in for the cosplay contest (and had to sign the paperwork that Scifi needed since they were going to be doing some filming during the contest). had her judging first for her Assassins Creed DLC cosplay of Noel from Final Fantasy XIII-2 and then and I went in as Benkei and Nozomi. Judging seem really fast and to our surprise, several of the people were ran or were in the pannels we saw the day before were some of our judges! After that we got some food and then went to Main Events because we were supposed to have skit rehearsal but there was a band that wouldnt get off stage so we ended up wasting a lot of time waiting, though we did practice in the room anyway, we just didnt get to check our audio or digital backdrop. We did get to meet with some of the other competators and they were all super nice and I was getting really excited to see what there were going to be doing onstage! Pretty quick greenroom came and I was definately feeling tired cause of how heavy my wig was feeling (it is super thick and super long) and my jacket weights a good amount too cause of all the beads. Anyway greenroom was pretty crowded but everyone was still really nice which was good. The contest ended up starting late for a number of reasons and I think everyone was getting really tired and hot. Eventually things got going. was towards the begining so we didnt see her for a long time and then we were towards the end of line for going onstage with our friends in the Madoka Musical group (including 
and 
from Green Jello) . We went onstage and I dont even really remember being onstage all that much cause I was so excited and then we went to sit down. We had a little bit of a medical issue but luckily everything worked out, mostly cause and were there. Then came the awards, and and I didnt think we were going to get anything and so we were super surprised to find that we were honored with the Best in Show award!! (I have the video clip of :iconsetralynn swearing to prove it lol) I dont even remember how I got onstage (apparently I had a REALLY hard time finding the stairs XP) and I am still in disbelief! The MC had joked that whoever won the huge Best in Show award had to get record of them drinking out of the trophy, which we plan on doing hahahaha. After that we managed to hang in there for interviews and stuffs and then passed out in the hotel room.
Day 3: WCS
We woke up fairly early so we could check out of the hotel and be available in case Wild Garden Cosplay or Green Jello Cosplay needed any help. I was dressed at CardCaptor Sakura Kinomoto in her Movie 2 end battle outfit, was dressed as Clow Reed, was dressed at Princess Tomoyo from TRC, and we even got to hang a bit with who was dressed as the matching Syaoran to my outfit. Before we could leave the hotel we got a message from Teca-Senpai of Wild Garden asking for hairspray and it was quite a sight to see Tomoyo grab the can and rush off! We rejoined her later, had some food and took some photos and then got in line for the event just in time to be there to help out Wild Garden and Green Jello with some last minute things which was really fun and cool to do! Then we got to watch the event (which was being livestreamed which made it seem like we were together with some of our other friends who couldnt make the con because they got to watch it live with us) and it was amazing to see all the wonderful performances!!! I've been a fan of Summit for several years and I was so happy to see the USA Finals live!! Congrats to Cupcake Cosplay and have fun in Japan!!!! After we were abel to have a bit more fun and then we went out to dinner with Green Jello and then took off for the long drive home!

AnimeLand Wasabi 2013

Well... lets see... it was Wasabi... the pick up for badges was ridiculous.... even though they were at a new hotel it was still way too small and hotel staff definately did not know what they were getting into. We ended up being the only skit in the contest (we got a pretty trophy though XD) and the green room was crazy tiny and crowded. But why I went to Wasabi was to see people and have fun and that is what I got to do. 
and and I did costumes from Suikoden II (Sierra, Wakaba, Rina, and Riou) <3 which made me have all the Suikoden happy feels and I also put together a Yukari Takeba cosplay from Persona 3 which was sooo comfortable and fun to run around in! I definately felt really cute. I also got to see all the wonderful people like 
, Katie, 
, Kimu, 
, 
, Koi , 
, Teca-senpai, 
and even made it down and there was a lot of fun to be had.
Now that Wasabi is over, full speed to Matsuri! I am gonna be attending with and and I see lots of fun with this con, especially since we will get to go cheer on Wild Garden Cosplay and Green Jello Cosplay in the WCS US Representative Finals!! and I will be performing a skit and I am super excited for it, we have already been working very hard and the costumes are very pretty <3 It is good that mine is nearly done since Setra and I have to practice lots in the costumes.
After Matsuri the main focus will be Nan Desu Kan and I am sooooo happy cause there looks like awesome is already in the works for it and it fills me with happy!

Lookin to the New Year

So real quick, I will try and post my 2012 end of year stuff by friday, hopefully sooner. I am also finally picking up where I left off video-wise and people can check that stuff out on my youtube page:

I did not know what to expect from 2012 and while it definately had some ups and downs, I am going to look forward and choose to value the ups far more and I want to share them.
The first really big up was definately going to Anime LA. It was basically magic. Fantastic location, beautiful weather, wonderful staff and community that welcomed us, a rockin staff, and two beautiful people to share every moment of it. <3 and 
The second up, getting to know more people in the Colorado cosplay community more. , Teca-Senpai, , 
, , and Dreaming Egos, omg all of you get so much love. And always love goes to , 
, , and 
I want to see more of all of you in 2013!
All the World Cosplay Summit stuff... omg I have been a fan for years and LOVED the performances from this year <3

The new people I have met outside of Colorado!
is a total sweetheart and Brianna and Sarah are amazing and I hope to return to ALA to see you both in 2014!

Hey, there is a fantastic little costume shop in Old Town Fort Collins called Life of the Party... this little shop has been there a lot for and I ever since our first cosplays... they had a really rough Halloween season and are in danger of closing shop, if anyone is looking for wigs, makeup, liquid latex, gag gifts, ect please stop by and support them.
